The presentation is entitled “Dagli uomini ai quaquaraquà: la voce selvaggia di don Mariano Arena” (“From men to quaquaraquà: the savage voice of don Mariano Arena”) and focusses on a famous novel by Leonardo Sciascia, Il giorno della civetta (1961). Moving from the debate around literature as tool of ennoblement and/or denounce, the conference explores the figure of the criminal hero in the Sicilian Mafia.
