Guest Lecture given by Dr Emanuele Monegato in the MA course English Culture

The lesson explores the links between Elizabethan England and contemporary Britain by analysing popular representations of Queen Elizabeth I and II through self-fashioning, mythization and the creation of a pop icon.

It also considers the complex interplay between the body natural and the body politics of the Monarch “now and then” by referring the Royal Family’s official communications about King Charles III’s illness.
